Dog Squad Search In Brighton Leads To Charges After Vehicle Incident

Two 18-year-old men have been charged after a police search that culminated in Brighton, following an alleged vehicle incident linked to a fuel drive-off and a police dog squad search across north Brisbane.



Vehicle Incident Alleged On Bruce Highway

Police allege the incident began on Sunday, 8 March 2026, when a white Ford Falcon bearing stolen licence plates was involved in a fuel drive-off at a service station on the Bruce Highway in Caboolture at about 3.15 p.m.

Officers later tracked the vehicle and deployed a tyre deflation device on the Gateway Motorway near Bracken Ridge.

Police said the vehicle was subsequently abandoned at the Deagon Deviation, where the occupants allegedly ran into nearby bushland.

Dog Squad Search Leads To Brighton Location

The Moreton District Dog Squad then conducted a search of the surrounding area.

Police Dog Wolf and the handler located one of the alleged offenders behind a property on Lauren Circuit in Brighton shortly after 12 a.m. on Monday, 9 March.

A second alleged offender was located on the same street at about 1 a.m.

The search spanned several north Brisbane locations, including Caboolture, Bracken Ridge and Deagon, before police located the two men in Brighton.

Charges And Court Dates

An 18-year-old man from Griffin has been charged with ten offences. These include two counts of stealing and single counts of driving a motor vehicle without a licence, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, receiving tainted property, obstructing police, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing used drug utensils and possessing utensils for use.

He is due to appear before Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on 25 March 2026.

Another 18-year-old man from Murrumba Downs has been charged with stealing, obstructing police and possessing dangerous drugs. He is scheduled to appear before Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on 24 March 2026.

A 16-year-old boy from Pacific Haven was also dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Investigation Information

Police have asked anyone with information relating to suspicious activity to contact Policelink or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.



Court proceedings for the two charged men are expected to proceed later this month.
