Police have charged a man following an incident at a place of worship in Bald Hills on Sunday, 10 May.
Queensland Police allege a 33-year-old man attended a religious venue on Telegraph Road around 10.46am and made verbal threats before leaving the area prior to officers arriving.
No physical injuries were reported during the incident.
Following investigations, police charged a 33-year-old Mitchelton man with one count each of creating a public nuisance and disturbing a place of worship.
He is scheduled to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 22 May.
Police said there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
The Queensland Police Service said it treats threats directed toward cultural and religious communities seriously and encouraged anyone who feels threatened or unsafe to contact police.
The QPS also reiterated its commitment to working with Queensland’s diverse communities to support safety and community engagement.
